Let’s get you there.
Starting in 2025, there is a new visa requirement to travel from the United States to Europe. Please read the ETIAS travel requirement details at the end of the page so we can help you get there without hassle!
A few important notes…
We highly recommend reserving flights and hotels as soon as possible to guarantee best price and availability.
Please make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from travel date, and read up on the new travel requirement (ETIAS) below.
Flights
Sicily has a number of airports. The closest to the wedding is Catania, which is 55 minutes to the venue by car. There are direct flights to Catania from most Italian cities.
The best options are to either fly direct to Rome and then catch a short connection to Catania, or book the full leg on your airline of choice from the States (often with layovers in Munich or Paris).
The following cities fly direct to Rome: New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, and Philadelphia.
Transport
If you are interested in exploring the area, we highly recommend renting a car for the easiest way to get around.
If you plan to come for only a few days and don't want to rent a car, note that taxis are not readily available. If you’d like to book a private transfer, the options below are well-reviewed:
Cabs and buses are available at the airports to get you to the towns.
Accommodation
Unfortunately, we can’t sleep everyone at the wedding venue, and the rooms have been reserved for family and close friends. Please see our “stay” page for the locations we recommend staying. Transport will be provided to and from the wedding events from these locations.
We will be sharing the transport schedule as we get closer to the wedding.
ETIAS Travel Requirement
The rules of travel to most European countries are changing. Starting in the first half of 2025, a travel authorization to enter 30 European countries is required, even for a short stay.
ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) is an electronic travel authorization linked to a traveler’s passport. It grants short-term entry to European countries for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.
The good news: applications are simple, typically processed within minutes, and cost $7.
While the application is not yet required (and therefore not open), you can read more details on the process and what information will be asked on the application on the official ETIAS website.
We will provide updates on this page as more information becomes available.
